FROM RIG FLOOR TO BOARDROOM

Twenty years of experience spanning the full spectrum of oil and gas land operations field to corporate to investment to independent practice.

Began a career in energy on the rig floor assisting drilling operations in the Barnett Shale for Nomac Drilling. The work was physically demanding, fast paced, and unforgiving—qualities that established foundational discipline and operational awareness informing every aspect of subsequent land work. U.S. Air Force veteran. Studied business administration and geology at Tarleton State University.

This rig floor foundation led to field landman operations across nine states: Texas, New Mexico, Colorado, Wyoming, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and West Virginia. Courthouse research, mineral acquisition, lease negotiation, title examination, surface coordination boots on ground work building technical expertise tract by tract, county by county.

Corporate experience at XTO Energy provided institutional perspective: managing 3,000+ lease files, division order operations, systematic compliance across multiple producing jurisdictions, regulatory coordination. Land operations at scale require systematic processes, quality control frameworks, and documented workflows supporting production assets.

Real estate investment provides another dimension to analytical capability. Land acquisition, subdivision development, and value optimization apply the same disciplined approach from energy title work—identifying opportunities, managing risk, executing strategic improvements that create value.

The combination is rare: rig floor grit, field landman technical expertise, corporate systems knowledge, investment analytical capability, all integrated into independent practice serving brokers, operators, and investors nationwide.
